The Dutch conductor and pianist Enrico Delamboye was born in Wiesbaden in 1977. He studied piano with Joop Celis and orchestral conducting with Jan Stulen at the Conservatoire in Maastricht. He made his debut as an opera conductor in May 1999 during the International May Music Festival at the State Theatre in Wiesbaden with „The Rape of Lucretia“ by Benjamin Britten. In 2000 he conducted at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam at an Opera Studio Nederland anniversary concert. Various engagements followed, including deputy music director and solo rehearsal pianist at the Hesse State Theatre in Wiesbaden (2000-2004). Further steps along his career path include Principal Guest Conductor at the State Theatre in Mainz (2003-2005) and Principal Music Director at the Wuppertal theatres (2004/05 season), followed by Principal Music Director at the opera house in Cologne. Between 2007 and 2014 he was a lecturer in orchestral conducting for students majoring in the subject at the Conservatoire in Maastricht. Since 2009 Enrico Delamboye is the Music Director and Principal Conductor at the theatre in Koblenz.

Enrico Delamboye has been a guest conductor at a number of venues, including the Komische Oper Berlin, the state theatres of Braunschweig and Darmstadt, the Zomeropera Alden Biesen, Belgium (west of Maastricht), the theatres in Basel and Bern, the Royal Theatre Copenhagen and the Teatro Sao Carlos in Lisbon. He has worked with numerous German and Dutch orchestras (Berlin Symphony, Rhenish/South-Westphalian and Württemberg Philharmonic, the German Radio Philharmonc, WDR Radioorchestra, the State Orchestra of Braunschweig, the Munich Symphony, and the Symphony Orchestra of Limburg/Brabant/Gelder). He has also guest conducted the Filharmonija Artur Rubinstein in Łodz (Poland), the Orchestre National de Montpellier Languedoc-Roussillon (France), the Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn (Switzerland) and the Royal Orchestra of Copenhagen and Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra (Denmark).

His concert repertoire essentially covers works of the late Romantic era and the early 20th century; he has conducted numerous full-length ballets and now has more than 50 operas and operettas in his repertoire, including Wagner’s Das Rheingold, Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera, Rigoletto, La Traviata, La Forza Del Destino and Macbeth and Puccini’s La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, Fanciulla del West and Tosca. His repertoire also includes Wozzeck, Fidelio, Carmen, The Rake’s Progress, Massenet’s Manon, Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow and Orpheus in the Underworld. Mozart’s most famous operas are also at his fingertips: The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, The Marriage of Figaro, Così fan tutte and Die Entführung.
